TATABA’S BANANA RIPENING CHAMBERS ADD VALUE TO TAITA TAVETA BANANA FARMERS

The arrival of several ripening chambers in the region will soon have a positive impact on the local economy. Two twenty-foot chambers are located in Voi, and one forty-foot chamber has recently arrived in Taveta. The ripening chambers are not yet operational as they await the supply of power. When fully operational they will provide a much-needed service through controlled ripening. This will result in a constant supply of better-quality bananas in large quantity to local and regional retailers and institutions. These ripening chambers were only possible through strategic partnerships between TATABA and ASDSP II as well as KCDMS.
